Disable Lync Integration?

  • It appears that Lync is causing slowness in our AD lookups in SCSM work items. When Lync is fully exited, the lookups are nearly immediate, with Lync open it takes 3-7 seconds to bring up the drop-down box or Check Names dialog.

Has anyone else seen this behavior and is there a simple way to disable all Lync integration?

  • Hi,

do you see this on every user picker? We have seen this sometimes happening with the "Assigned to" field within Change requests - but for example not with the "Primary Owner"

  • Hey

I had a similar situation with a customer. What happens if you start the Lync Client first, then the SCSM console?

  • We have the same problem on forms that have user presence.

  • to all. Please open the support cases.

Microsoft didn't know about problem until someone report with one of the channel: support case or connect. Not so long ago connect was closed for bug submitting so know we can open support case only. And please do it as soon as possible (before SC SP1 goes to RTM) and please do it all you.

  • So is there a non-paid way to submit a bug report?

  • You can submit bug reports through the "SC 2012 SP1 Evaluation" Connect website for free.

Log in to, click Directory, and then find the entry for "SC 2012 SP1 Evaluation" and click the Join button.  Once you've joined this group, you can use the direct link

    I hope that helps,

If your support case will be classified as Bug then it will be free of charge for you.

  • If you're running Lync 2013 and still have the old client installed, try uninstalling the old client and the problem should be gone!

  • I uninstalled Lync 2010 and the presence lag went away. Service Manager should check if Lync 2013/2010 are installed side-by-side an notify users of this problem. What a weird quirk.
