I've never used DCM before so sorry if this is a newbie question. I created a new configuration baseline to look for machine that do Not have Acrord32.exe (adobe reader 10). I then created a new collection based on Non-compliant
systems. My collection shows nothing.
On the properties of my config-baseline I can't add much. Each drop down window I look at shows nothing. Under application and general I have specified Adobe Reader and that's it.
Do any of you have examples I can import into SCCM 2007 so I can see/learn how these work? They seem very powerful and I know we can use them.
More on this: I've created a few of these now and here is the SQL code that SCCM auto-creates when I create the non-compliant collection
select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_CI_ComplianceState on SMS_G_System_CI_ComplianceState.ResourceID
= SMS_R_System.ResourceId where SMS_G_System_CI_ComplianceState.CI_UniqueID = "ScopeId_D623E816-5373-4FC3-9677-47C187AA2102/Application_6abce4c8-2f90-421e-8013-1952b32f71f9" and SMS_G_System_CI_ComplianceState.ComplianceState = 2
I notice that my .EXE name is not listed. And I don't know where it gets
The collection query is WQL, not SQL. It would not contain anything about the file you are looking for in the CI. It would only reference the uniqueid of the CI or baseline you targeted.
This is a CI Unique ID: ScopeId_D623E816-5373-4FC3-9677-47C187AA2102/Application_6abce4c8-2f90-421e-8013-1952b32f71f9"
The first half before the "/" is called the Authoring Scope, and will be the same for all CIs and baselines you create on that same site. The second half (beginning with "Application_" is the "logical name" (or guid) for the CI being referenced.
The query is looking for all machines that have compliance results for the CI with the uniqueID above, where ComplianceState = 2 (noncompliant).
