Message undeliverable - user(s) account is disabled


  • Our office recently terminated an employee

    I removed her from the email in Outlook 2010

    When someone outside our company sends us an email they are getting an error saying message undeliverable due to the users account is disabled

    How do I correct this issue?

    What happened to the SMTP address associated with her account?

    Could you share more details about this? If you just remove the account in Outlook or disable the account via ADUC or directly delete the mailbox?

    If someone sent the email to a distribution group in your organization?
    Please check if the disabled user is still existing in a distribution group. If so, remove it from the group and then check if issue persists.
