Error Cannot Update RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I keep getting error code 800B0109  windows encountered an unknown error. Can someone please help with this

  • Were you attempting to update Windows 7 (no longer supported) or attempting to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10?

    This error code definition may help you or others in the troubleshooting:

    Error code: 0x800b0109  A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider.

    Indicate if you need help upgrading to Windows 10 as this is still free.

    For the error code: 800B0109,please try the following methods:

    1. Please try the below command line(run as an administrator):


    And then hit Enter and wait for the command to end. After that, reboot your Windows computer system to check if the problem solved.


    1. Perform a disk check:

    Open the command prompt and run as an Administrator, then input chkdsk C: /f and hit the Enter key.

    Then reboot your computer.


    1. Boot your machine in Safe Mode function and try to install the update to check if it helps.

    3) Which Security software is installed on your computer?
    4) Have you made any changes on the computer prior to this issue?
    You should check the update history and find the updates that fail to install on your computer.
    1. Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
    2. On the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click Review your update history.
    A window opens that shows all the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.

    Please let us know the updates that fail to install on your computer.

    Method 1: I would suggest you to follow the steps from the link and check if the issue persists.
    You cannot install some updates or programs

    Method 2: you can also try to reset the Windows update components and check if the issue is fixed. Follow the below link that and run the Fix it that will automatically reset the Windows update components:
