Group policy for default user

    Question

  • Is there any way how to configure in GPO regional settings (my time zone not US, decimal formats, time, date and my keyboard layout)? Which registry values define this in Windows 7 Enterprise? In Windows Xp I just copied Default profile. But in Windows 7 after sysprep everything is gone. So I wonder how can i set these values after imaging computer via GPO?

  • You can configure regional options using group policy preferences:

[User Configuration] -> [Preferences] -> [Control Panel Settings] -> [Reginal Options]

Regarding Keyboard layout, there is no group policy available. The easiest way to push a keyboard layout is to user the group policy preference to deploy the following registry key:

[HKCU -> Keyboard Layout -> Preload -> 1] (here is a list of codes available: http://www.online-it-support.co.uk/?p=1164)

    Hope that helps!
