[ANSWERED][ERROR] REAGENTC.EXE: Operation failed: 4c7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to active WinRE in windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I can run the commands to set path, and they complete successfully, but when I attempt to enable WinRE, I receive the error in the thread title.

I preform all commands in audit mode, and reagentc.exe /info outputs this:

Extended configuration for the Recovery Environment

        Windows RE enabled:   0
        Windows RE  staged:   1
        Setup enabled:        1
        Custom Recovery Tool: 0
        WinRE.WIM directory:  \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition1\Recovery\WindowsRE
        Recovery Environment:
        BCD Id:               00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
        Setup Files:          \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition1\Recovery\WindowsRE
        Recovery Operation:   4
        Operation Parameter:
        Boot Key Scan Code    0x0
    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation successful

Thoughts? Suggestions? This is the last hurdle in my recovery partition process, so I'm eager to overcome!

    Thanks!

  • I ran into the issue of running the command in audit mode, for which the following was helpful:

The "/auditmode" switch is required for it work properly!
