Wrong email address entered when setting up account for the first time unable to change it to correct email address RRS feed

    When a new computer is turned on and being set up for the first time,

    When someone uses the wrong email address for there user account using windows 8

    and the start screen is displayed under account settings.

    you are unable to change it to correct email address, No option or location to do this.

    This results in creating a new user account and then linking the correct address to the new user then

    making that a admin account and deleting the incorrect user.

    Is there anyway of changing the address with out creating a new user?

    * reason why all the apps and programs installed are deleted from the user with incorrect email address and they need to be reinstall abit of a pain and a long winded process!!*

    Based my research, we may not be able to achieve it. Create a new account and delete the wrong one may be the only way to fix this issue.

    You can try to switch the account type to "local account" and then switch back to a Microsoft account with the right email address.
