  • Hi Sudhir,

Thanks for your post, and from your words, I know that your PLDS DVD+-RW DS-8A5SH ATA Device failed to write dual layer dvds.

This issue can be caused by following factors:

    1. 3rd part burning software conflict.
    2. Corrupt device driver
    3. Third party applications or services conflict.
    4. Hardware issue.

Let’s try following steps to check the results:

Please run the fixit to check CD/DVD writing issues:

Fix problems with CD or DVD drives that can’t read or write media

Please reinstall the driver for the DVD RW device, you can find it here:

    http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/driverdetails?driverid=R300726

Let’s try to burn the DVD in Clean boot mode to avoid 3rd part conflict:

How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista

Note After clean boot troubleshooting, please follow steps under “How to reset the computer to start as usual after clean boot troubleshooting” in above article.

Then, please help me to do a test: try to burn another disc and let me know if it can work fine.

If the issue still persist, please help to capture the detailed error message during burning process and post here.

Thanks very much for your cooperation and look forward to your response.

    Best Regards, StarSprite
