Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI card and Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Windows 7 system and a scanner connected to an ADAPTEC AHA-2940 SCSI card. This scanner is a pre-press professional scanner and there are no other scanners available of the same quality.
I would like to update to Windows 10 but I am not sure if Win 10 is compatible with this SCSI card.
So my question is Has anyone managed to get this card working under a Win 10 environment?
    Your help is much appreciated.

  • Hi,

From my survey, there is not an official documentation indicates that Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI card is compatible with Windows 10 system, the latest Windows system it supports is Windows 7, look at this picture.

Besides, on Adaptec official website, we still can’t see 2940 here.

Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

Therefore, I am afraid that this card will not work on Windows 10, but you could have a try, use it under Compatibility mode. If no help, it’s easy to roll back Windows 7 from Windows 10.

  • If you are still looking, I found a unsigned Windows 7 64-bit driver based on a windows 7 driver for 78xx cards.  I've tested it under windows 10 64bit and it works.
