sound device not installed


  • on the windows 7 rc i have notice that say there is no audio device installed the sound card isn't even being read in the device manager i think it might have to do with my pci slots

  • vistax13, what do you have for hardware? what do you have for sound hardware? is it onboard, what model? What do you have for a video card? there has been issues with newer ati video cards and realtek audio drivers. is there any "unkown devices" in device manager?

  • i have a creative sound blaster live card i couldn't find any drivers for it there is a multmedia device in other hardware in the device manager it has a ! beside it. if i click update driver it says it can't find it i have the ati all in wonder grapgics card.

  • I think creative has Win7 drivers for some live cards, but not all. I imagine you tried them
    as for the other device, yes it may be from that all in wonder card unless you have onboard graphics. What you can do to identify the device is go to it in device manager, right click on it -> select properties -> select details -> select hardware id from the drop down menu and do a search for that, or post it here and either myself or someone will figure that out for you

  • That is the Creative SB Live! Series device, I don't believe any driver is available, at least not yet
