Answers

  • when did the client last report to the WSUS server?

you could try the following script to force client to report:

    wuauclt.exe /detectnow /reportnow

also failing that you could also try resetting client WSUS with this script (run on client machine that is having issues)

    net stop wuauserv
    reg Delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate /v PingID /f
    reg Delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate /v AccountDomainSid /f
    reg Delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate /v SusClientId /f
    reg Delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate /v SusClientIDValidation /f
    net start wuauserv
    wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow
    pause

  • also make sure the client is eligible for the version you have approved on your WSUS

  • Check the event viewer and see whether is any error is logged?

Check and make sure they already installed other updates.

    If restart required perform restart.

but no event occur related 1607.

  • Hi ,

Did the issue occur with all the machines or the specific one?

Based on your description, updates are deployed to clients via WSUS. If all the machines (X64) cannot get this update kb3176929 through WSUS. Then, the culprit might on the WSUS server side, it is suggested to contact our WSUS forum for help, they are the best resource to troubleshoot WSUS issue.
