Windows Go Full Screen on Drag x64 Windows 7

    General discussion

  • Hi
This is not a question but I can't find anywhere to report an 'issue'.
When I drag a window sometimes (10%) when I drop the window where I want it it jumps to full screen display.
    H/w Logitek TrackBall.
    S/w Windows 7 RC x64 edition.

    Hi Stuart

You did not mention exactly where you are dropping the window? When you drag the window, if your cursor is near the top of the screen, you may be seeing the Aero Snap feature.

Could you please provide more details?

    Let us know.

Thank You for testing Windows 7

  • Sure sounds like you want to disable the 'aero snap' feature, which causes windows to maximize when the top of the window hits the top of the screen, a very annoying feature to some (including myself, and seems a silly default).

You can google for that term and you'll find how to disable it, but in short:

    1) Control Panel > Ease of Access Center
    2) Click any one of these: Change how your mouse works --or-- Change how your keyboard works
    3) Click "Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen "
