HELP! I am getting errors and having problems downloading updates

    Question

  • I have been having problems getting my computer to download updates, all it says is that the download failed.  Also, I tried dowloading the service pack and got a 0x8007000d error.  What can I do?  I also try to download my santivirus software and it says the file is corrupt.  Help!!!!!

    First, run a virus scan. If your installed antivirus solution is not working, this could be a sign of a serious infection.

     

    Go to the following website.

     

    PCs with updated antivirus may be infected:
    http://www.pandasecurity.com/infected_or_not/us/

    At the lower / right side of the screen, click the 'Home Users-Scan Your PC' button. Follow all of the instructions to run the scan. This may include installing an ActiveX Control. This is a very trusted site that is hoighly recommended.

     

    If the results are negative, try the following. Download and run the System Update Readiness tool (SUR) from the following website. The instructions for doing this are in the article.
