  • Looking at Error Message Explained: User Profile Service Failed the Logon explains a couple of reasons for this error.

So perhaps the first suggestion, restart the PC then logon with the new account first off all, has that been tried?

If not logon and check the Application log, right click start choose Computer Management, expand Event Viewer, Windows Logs, Application. Errors with source User Profile General for the time of the attempt logon. They may give the reason. If so post the error removing any username info.

The link points it be being permissions on the default profile (gets copied when a new user logs on to create the new profile). So check the permissions on C:\Users\Default (need to be viewing hidden files to see that, on File Explorer click View then on the right Hidden items to view it). Check Everyone and DESKTOPNAME\Users have Read & execute, List folder contents and Read.
