Default printer changes randomly to Sybase DataWindow PS at RDS logon RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Our users are experiencing random default printer changes after logging into our RemoteApp.

The default printer is randomly changed into Sybase DataWindow PS. Even though the default printer is set correctly at the client side.

    Our setup is as follows:

8 x Windows Server 2012R2 RDS Session Host

RDS farm with a connection broker and Remote Desktop Gateway (on the same server)

Users connect to a RemoteApp session.

We are not using a printserver on our systems.

Any help that would point us into the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

    Kind regards,

    Mervin

  • Hi,

Please make sure that below group policy is configured as not configured:
Computer >>Admin template >>Windows components >> RDS >>RDSH >>Printer redirection >> DO not set default client printer to de default printer in a session

If Easy print has been configured, if possible, try to disable easy print and install printer driver on both sides to check the result.

Also, please confirm that if there is any relate event has been logged on client side based on the problem happens time.

    Best Regards,
    Eve Wang

  • Hi Eve,

We have checked the GPO settings, default printer settings and Easy Print are currently not configured via a GPO.

I have also checked the RDP file itself that we're using for the customers, redirect printers is enabled:

    redirectprinters:i:1

Should we disable Easy Print via a GPO?

Is there a way to show which driver is used on the RDS SessionHost server when a user is logged in?

    Thanks again.
