Failure configuring Windows updates Reverting Changes, Do not turn off your computer

  • Hi Support,

    I am getting above problem while installing the below windows 7 updates,

     

    Update for Windows 7 (KB2505438)

    Update for Windows 7 (KB2506928)

    Update for Windows 7 (KB2529073)

    Update for Windows 7 (KB2534366)

    Update for Windows 7 (KB975496)

    Update for Windows 7 (KB982018)

    Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (KB976932)

    I have enabled "Automatic Update", so every time its installing and asking to reboot the system, during reboot its giving the below error,

      Failure configuring Windows updates

              Reverting changes .

        Do not turn off your computer.

    Can you please help to resolve this issue.

    I am getting the same issue but only with one Update now. 

    Update for Windows 7 (KB2534366)

    Any help would be much appriciated

  • Hi,

    You can work around this by installing 982018 and 2529073 one by one.  We're aware of this issue and a fix is coming.  These two updates should be removed from Windows Update by now.

  • Yeah, had a brain wave after I added this post.  Downloaded the update and installed it manually and hey presto.

  • Hi,

    I'm still having problems with KB2534366, i've tried restarting in safe mode, i've even requested the hotfix link but still not working.

    I don't know if its a coincidence but my desktop has blacked out since trying this update.

    please help.

  • KB2529073 does nothing for me but cause blue screens during reboots.  Endless reboots!
