Recurring USB device not recognized message in Windows 10 Pro. RRS feed

  • I keep receiving, every few seconds, the "USB device not recognized" message in Windows 10 Pro (upgraded from Windows 8.1). I have disconnected all USB devices and reconnected them one-by-one with no relief. All USB devices are working and accessible. This message is out of hand. . . help please.

  • If you look in Device Manager (right click start, choose Computer Managment then select Device Manager), does that show any yellow exclaimation marks? If you expand Universal Serial Bus controllers does show anything? Can you right click and uninstall any non working devices?

    Run Hardware and devices troubleshooter

    a) Open Control Panel.
    b) Write Troubleshooting in the search box right up corner and hit enter.
    c) Click on Troubleshooting tab.
    d) Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
    e) Select the HardwareandDevice options from the list.
    f) Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.
