Cannot Open Folder on External Hard Drive - Windows 10 RRS feed

    I just purchased an HP Pavilion All in One with Windows 10. I have an external hard drive with all my pictures and stores

    business documents. This is one folder for my Ho Association that I cannot open  . Did change properties on that one, and was able to open, but now cannot opens any subfolders " you don't currently have permission to access this folder".

    Went through same process again, but when I open the folder to access the doc, it just give ma a blank page and nothing

    shows up. This is very frustrating as these are business documents and need to be accessed on a daily basis.

    Would appreciate your assistance.

    Take the ownership of main and child files/folders and then add permissions.

    Hi ,

    Please right-click the whole folder, check your current permission under security tab, try to take full control permission.
    Or we could implement it using command line,  take administrative ownership using “takeown /f” command then grant administrators full access using “icacls” command to this Documents folder.
    For example,
    takeown /f Path_And_File_Name
    icacls Path_And_File_Name /GRANT ADMINISTRATORS:F
