Task Scheduler RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am after some assistance with Task Scheduler. My team operates on a wider network who use a group policy for default apps. Mail is Mail, Web is Edge. My team use Outlook for mail and Chrome for web. Each time my team reboots the default apps are changed.

Can I please have some advice on using task manager or task manager to run a batch file after each login to set these default apps to the ones my team uses?

    Outlook

    Chrome

    Any help appreciated.

    Benjamin

  • Hi,

Group policy will take effect on user or computer depends on the GP configuration. It is recommended to build a new group for your team users and apply different GP about the default application configuration to them, instead of using other method the override the GP configuration. As Group Policy has refresh interval and we are not sure about the exact result of the conflict configuration.

If you still want to use Task Schedule to override the configuration, you can consider of calling PowerShell scripts to configure default application.
