helppane problems

    Question

  • I'm running win 7 64bit rc. My problem is the help and support window keeps popping up at all times. Sometimes i can close it through the task panel. Sometimes i must use the task manager, and most times when i close it it pops right back up. The helpPane.exe is NOT listed anywhere in msconfig. Startups or services. Anybody have any ideas as to why this is happening..or..how to disable helppane.exe.     athlon phenomII 945 ,asus m4a78pro, corsair 650w ps, 8gb  patriot 4-4-4-12 ram, 500gb maxtor sata II hd

  • Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum.

Based on my experience, Helppane.exe is an executable file which is located at: C\Windows\Helppane.exe. This application should not appear or run in your system startup, sometimes spyware and virus will use a very similar spelling of Helppane. You need to always double check your spelling in the tasklist. Thus I recommend that you run security software to scan your whole disk. Meanwhile, you can use some free online scan tools.
