0x00000709 when intalling a brother printer to Win7 desktop

  • hello, could any one advise a fix? When installing our new brother printer, we received error message 0x00000709 on our win7 runned desktop - the printer is 4in1 and has fax funksjoner. The PC recognise the Brother printer and fax functions but just the printing function are not enabled. When we try to set the printer as default printer in the control panel, the error message 0x00000709 pop's up. We have tried to reinstall, upgrade the usb port drivers but at no luck.

When testing and installing the driver to XP runned laptop, the installation when ok and we can print from the laptop. Would really appriciate advise on how to fixed it so we can print from our desktop.

And the printer is wired to the desktop..

  • This is obviously a driver problem, have you tried to reinstall the printer driver with the latest driver from the brother website?  I know it can be a bit tricky to get drivers off their site, but here is the link you should start with.  Please make sure you use the correct driver (32-bit v 64-bit) as installing the wrong driver will cause additional blue screens.  Also, make sure you UNINSTALL the previous driver before you install the new one.

Hope this helps and let us know if you need additional assistance.
