Can Windows 7 scan to a pdf format?

    Question

  • On Windows 7 the Windows Fax and Scan only offers TIFF, BMP, JPEG or PNG formats for scanning documents.  With XP, I could scan from my Brother MFC-8840D directly into .pdf formats.  Can this be done with Windows 7?  If not, how can I convert TIFFs to PDFs?

  • The functionality you had on your XP machine was not built-in. Probably the driver for the machine enbaled thsi, or you had some third party sofwtare installed to achieve this.

Out of the box this is not possibel with Windows 7. I woudl recommend installing one of the many free pdf virtual printers to print your tiff files to pdf.
