how do i fix error 0x8007045D

    Question

  • Windows vista give the error 0x8007045D everytime I try to install vista on my computer.  I'm not trying to make a backup of any kind.  It gives me the error message Windows could not install the required files.  Make sure files required for installation are available and restart operation.   I'm doing this off of a virtual pc, so what should I do to fix this problem?  The virtual pc WILL NOT allow me to do a restart and I desperately need this issue solved because I'm trying to set up a server for my class.

    Maybe you need to copy the content of the Vista Setup DVD to you local Drive.
    And run the setup from there.

    1. Click on Start
    2. Go to Programs

    4. Go to its settings

    The disc you are using should be fine but set the speed to 8x since that is what your drive is for. Typically you will recieve an error or the disc will be blank if you are having issues with a disc.

    • The brand of the disc may be incompatible with the burner. Try a different brand of media.
    • The disc may be defective. Try another disc.
    • The burner may have malfunctioned. For troubleshooting information, see the documentation that was included with the burner.
    • The burner or the disc may not support the speed that you used to burn the disk. Try using a slower speed.

      When you try to perform a full backup on a Windows Vista-based computer, you may receive the following error messages before the backup of the first drive is complete:

      The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error (0x8007045D)
      Please rerun backup once issue is resolved.
