I was cleaning viruses and trojans off my daughters Windows 2000 computer using Spybot Search & Destroy. I found many problems and had that program fix them.
Now when I try to boot up into Windows, I get the error message: "Cannot find the file 'cmd.exe' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available."
When I click "OK" the same error message keeps coming up - the desktop never appears either. So all I can do is call up the Task Manager with Cntl-Alt-Del and shut down the computer.
I have no idea how to fix this and I am only marginally adept at technical issues. Can someone please help me rescue this computer?
