eTrust Antivirus 8.1 not downloaded signatures

  • eTrust 8.1 build 655 is correctly install and working, but not downloaded signature and program updates.

    Any workarounds ?

  • Just did some more testing, for the problem only occurs with the 64bit version. The 32bit version running on my laptop works fine.

  • I have the same issue on 32bit but I assumed it was out internal server.  We block the CA website and push all updates from a central CA enterprise server.  The updates appear to download but do not apply.  I am not an admin on that server so I have not looked into it.  I'm currently running AVG Free.

  • I had the same trouble. I tried to set compatibility for ITMDist.exe to Vista SP1.
    Download goes well.

  • I have changed the compatibility to Vista SP1 and also tried XP SP2 and still not getting updates.
    any other idea's?

  • Set compatibility mode to VISTA for ITMDist.exe and save it for "all users"! It will work.
    Windows 7 RTM reports, that etrust AV is using an old AV scanner interface, which is unsupported and has to be updated. Hopefully CA is working on it.

  • CA released the patches!

    Current implementations of CA Anti-Spyware 8.1, CA Anti-Virus 8.1, and CA Threat Manager 8.1 require a patch to be installed in order to run the Windows 7 and Windows 2008 Server R2 operating systems.

    Here are the instructions for the required patch that must be downloaded and installed in order to have CA Anti-Spyware 8.1, CA Anti-Virus 8.1, and CA Threat Manager 8.1 operate on Windows 7 and Windows 2008 Server R2. This patch is only for the products Agents (build 8.1.655) and is not applicable to the products Server Console as the Server Console is not supported on the Windows 7 platform, but Windows 2008 Server R2 is supported on the Server Console.

    • Depending on the type of Windows 7 operating system (32 bit or 64 bit) that you are using and Windows 2008 Server R2, download the appropriate zip file using the links below:

      • Click here for the 32 bit version.
      • Click here for the 64 bit version.

      (Please Note that CA Anti-Spyware 8.1 only supports 32 bit.)
    • Save the zip file to a temporary folder and then extract its contents.
    • Refer to the Readme.txt file which will explain the installation process that needs to be followed so that the executable file (extracted in step 2 above) is used during the deployment of the ITM Agent.
