If by "tablet settings" you mean the Metro interface? You don't. If you are running RT, you're completely stuck....tablet mode is all you have. If you are running the full Windows 8...you can install third party tools...like ClassicShell or StarDock to get around the Start screen, but you can't turn them off. This is unfortunately..."by design" in Windows 8.

Hi
No... I did not want to use the StarDock.
There must be a method to disable the tablet functions.
In windows 7 it usually in the Program and features turn off windows features...
But in Windows 8? Looking around for it but to no avail.

No you can't, the metro interface is part of the standard win 8 operation.
It can only be disabled by third party applications as of now. But if by default you want the desktop mode to be activated on computer startup go thru the link below.

There is actually one way to disable the metro interface but it will not be turned off , instead it will keep running in the background and u wont be able to use it. for this type regedit in run, and goto this path
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
In the right pane, double-click on RPEnabled key and change its value from 1 to 0.

no, this only worked for the Devel0epr Preview (Build 8102) not for mater Builds (CP, RP or now the RTM)
In the right pane, double-click on RPEnabled key and change its value from 1 to 0.
