Downgrade Net Framework 4.8 to 4.7.03 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are having software issues once that Net Framework upgraded to 4.8. I need to downgrade back to 4.7.03. Can I downgrade? I saw something about having to know the update (KB#) it was installed under.

  • The last release version prior to 4.8 was 4.7.2, so I don't know what you mean by "4.7.03"

.NET Framework 4.8 is included in Windows 10 1903,
So you would have to downgrade Windows to a previous version when your software is incompatible.

I would recommend fixing the software.

  • Does anybody know where to find Windows 10 Version 1809? I have 1903 and it causes software issues.

  • Any Idea how to find Windows version 1809 download. That will have older version of .Net Framework.

FWIW, I've found that PowerShell and a C# .NET program of mine didn't work inside the 1903 Windows Sandbox after it received the .NET Framework 4.8 update; uninstalling it (KB4495620) and pausing updates solves the problem. Nothing else I tried worked. Worth a try, perhaps.

  • Hi Frank,

The official website only supplies Windows 10 iso now, you need to download 1809 iso from other channel.

Besides, if you installed KB4495620, please uninstall it from Control Panel and test again. Or download original 1903 iso from Microsoft website then repair upgrade, don’t check for updates.

    Regards
