No shortcut to desktop icon for Windows 7?! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just got my first laptop with Windows 7 and I am very disappointed to learn that there is no longer a shortcut to the desktop icon on the taskbar. That was one of the most convenient icons on any other computer I have ever worked with. Why take away such a useful tool? I am also very upset that it took me almost an hour just to get confirmation on this horrible truth. I hate having to use support with Microsoft. I cant just get a simple answer.

  • I'm not sure what you mean by shortcut to desktop icon.

But if you click on the transparent rectangle on the far right of the task bar, it shows the desktop.
