windows firewall error?

  • im trying to change my windows firewall settings but when i click to open the settings it says due to an unidentified problem windows cannot dislplay windows firewall settings

    im running windows vista home premium

    Please understand that Microsoft provides different support services which have different service levels and support boundaries. For this process crashes issue, it is necessary to debug the related crash dump files to locate the root cause. However, debugging is out of our Forum support boundary. I’d like to recommend that you contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS) for assistance, the support professionals there are better qualified to assist you.

  • Hi tylerlamble203,

    Where are you changing your windows firewall settings? is it via control panel applet? if you launch firewallsettings.exe, does it bring up the same ui you are having trouble with? Which button did you click, and what settings are you trying to change?

    Also, can you make sure your windows firewall service has started? If you execute "net start mpssvc" in an elevated command promt, does it say that it's already been started?
