Windows 7 Ultimate x64 sp1 update fails with error 8024200D


  • SP1 fails with error 8024200D. I have tried everything 1) sfc /scannow 2) System Update Readiness Tool 3) Tried the stand-alone SP1 package Here is my CBS log

    In this topic someone had the same issue and had some files from the Sp1 RC still on the system.

    So try to remove it wit the provided DISM command from Mark.

  • Thanks Andre. I tried it, did not work very well. It started giving me different errors. I performed inplace re-install as suggested in -

     It took 4hrs but worked :-)
