How can I prevent video driver changes when HDMI is changed? RRS feed

  • Things are getting worse.

    If I plug and unplug the HDMI a few times, the task bar malfunctions and I have to restart Windows.

    Have you tested the issue using other port type such as DisplayPort?

    Also, please update VirtualBox to the latest version.

    Hello again, David. My gaming laptop does have display port, and the display port is driven directly by the NVIDIA GPU (instead of via Optimus),  but unfortunately it can't be tested because I don't have a display port display to plug into it.

    I am running the latest VBox.

    My question is: How can I force Windows to drive the HDMI all the time?
