Windows 8 default paper size RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there, I have a windows 8 system that has to be set to US system location in order for my Microsoft POS 2009 software to work correctly.

I am located in Europe and use A4 paper size, the problem is that because I am set to US location the system configures all of our printers to letter paper size, I have looked on line for hours but can´t find a definitive answer to the problem.

I know I can select A4 every time I print and on some of the HP printers I can set a custom profile to set it to A4 but I was hoping there may be a registry tweak that would set the default page size for my system to A4.

    Any help would be great.

  • Hi,

Try going to the Control Panel and then to Devices and Printers , select the printer and right click, under the drop down menu select Printing Preferences, select Advanced , and once in the advanced menu you will have the option to change the default paper size for that machine. Click ok and then be sure to click apply. You would have to do that for every printer.

    Hope that helps.
