Question about upgrading VM's to another OS. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an 1809 base image to test with. It has a suspend and a Resume TS on the desktop.

I've upgraded it to 1909. My first question is, will my Resume still work?

Secondly, since I didn't need the ISO to create the 1909 VM, do I still have to have it somewhere in MDT (perhaps to do a capture/deploy properly)?

Any info on this is awesome!

  • So, what I have found is that the shortcut itself is broken, but I can still launch the Resume by running a CMD:

    C:\MININT\Scripts\LTISuspend.wsf /Resume

Not sure why the shortcuts get broken, but this kicks off the resume of the Capture of my VM.

  • So far, using the Resume I created under 1809 does not run when I Resume after upgrading my VM.

How do I proceed to Capture via Resume a VM created as 1809 and upgraded to 1909 (which is supposed to work seamlessly?

  • I found this basic link but it doesn't address a situation where you upgrade your OS in your VM and still get it to resume on to Capture.
