Windows Store Apps in 1903 Enterprise edition RRS feed

  • Question

  • How can we disable access to Microsoft Store on Windows 10 1903 enterprise edition

We used the group policy to disable Microsoft store but that disable all the stop apps including Calculator/Photo viewer

We would like to block any windows store apps from appearing in the start search so that users dont get confused ans try installing those.

    Via Group Policy:

Open the Local Group Policy Editor and go to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Store; in the Settings pane on the right, double click Turn off Store application, select Enabled in the properties page for the policy and click OK.

    Uninstall via PowerShell:

Open PowerShell as Admin and execute the following command:

    Get-AppxPackage *windowsstore* | Remove-AppxPackage

  • Hi

To disable Microsoft Store apps in Windows 10, do the following:

    1. Open “run” box and type: gpedit.msc ;

    1. Group Policy Editor will open. Go to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Store.
    2. Set the policy option Disable all apps from Microsoft Store to Disabled.

Or you can go to Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\System\Internet Communications Management\Internet Communication setting, and choose “turn off access to Store” so that Microsoft Store can not connect to the Internet.

Besides, if it does not work, you can try the following way:

    1.Open Registry Editor.

2.Go to the following Registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\ WindowsStore

If you do not have such a key, then just create it.

    3.Create a new 32-bit DWORD value DisableStoreApps.

Note: Even if you are running 64-bit Windows, you still need to use a 32-bit DWORD as the value type.

    4.Restart Windows 10.

    Hope these can help you.

    Best regards

    Kiki Shi

  • Hello,

Is the question, how to disable the store and all the in-box apps like calculator to receive updates?

Try using the group policy under user configuration, rather than th eoption under Computer configuration to disable the store.

If I recall at one time that was supposed to disable the store but all the installed apps to still get updates.
