On-screen keyboard and fingerprint reader conflict at user login. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using the fingerprint reader to log in from the welcome screen fails when the on-screen keyboard (OSK) is visible. The fingerprint reader becomes useable again when the OSK is dismissed.

Why is this? Is there a way to get the two to live in harmony?

  • I would suggest you to check with hardware manufacturer (fingerprint reader).

There must be some updated drivers, and fixes available with the vendor.

  • This is not an answer.

The hardware is fine - drivers installed, all up to date and fingerprint reader working correctly. It's only when OSK is present that interference occurs.
