Windows 2003 server providing RRAS (VPN) connections fine to many external laptops.
However, there is now 1 laptop that have tried to setup for VPN and it keeps returning the 721 error. However, this same laptop can connect to other VPN connections, just not this particular one. What happens is this - build laptop, setup VPN client connect and everyhting is fine. Shutdown computer, start up again, log in and try VPN connection and get error 721. Yet, many other laptops can VPN in ok
So far I have
1 - re-built laptop 4 times (XP Pro SP3) 2 -Disabled firewall on client 3 - Disabled firewall on client and dsl router at same time 4 - re-started bot RRAS server and DC 5 - removed RRAS and re-installed
Are you using PPTP or IPsec for your tunnels? If you're using IPsec, perhaps you have an issue with overlapping subnets. When the notebook connects in remotely, it must be on a different subnet than the machine its connecting to.
