Winlogon.exe Application Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • When computer boots up it displays a message:
The Instruction at "0X74eF400e" referenced Memory at "0x00000000" the memory could not be written.

This is only happening to 6 out of 32 computers. I use Ghost to create a fresh image and deployed it to all the computers. This error was occurring a couple of months before as well that’s why I decided to create a new image for all the computers.

All computers are running XP SP2 in a 2003 Domain environment.

  •   Ppup isnt a windows application, and the error doesnt have much information available about it. if you can find what the application is that its pointing to(Ppup) that would be a good place to start. you might want to look at the services (non-micrsoft) listed on there to see if you can identify the application, and when there are several things opened, look in task manager. without much more information I think thats your best shot right now
