How do I hide folders for all user profiles before or after deploying Win10 image ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Deploying Win10 1809.  How can I hide the following folders for ALL user profiles, even if they log into someone else's system ?

I want to hide 3D Objects, Contacts, Music, Videos, Links and Saved Games.  Even when a new user logs into the system.

Deploying with MDT, image create in VMware.

PropertyBag in registry is already set for Hide.

  • Does not work.

That solution is for AFTER deployment per machine.  I want to be able to create a GPO or a script which either hides or deletes those folders when the user logs in.  I removed and hid them in the reference image, but after deployment the folders reappear after login; for any user that logs in.

  • Did you try running any of those registry files in the State Restore section? Perhaps close to the end of the TS.

  • These are machine level registry. Whenever you will apply from Task Sequence > after State Restore phase. It should work. How you're executing the files please let me update.

    Run Command line: For example

    Regedit /s "%scriptroot%\FileName.reg"
