Windows 10 Pro Deactivated after I did a reset on my laptop. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I did a reset on my laptop (deleted apps and kept files).

Afterwards, my Windows 10 Pro deactivated (which never happened before)

I don't know how to reactivate it, even though it was a genuine copy of 10 Pro.

    Please help, Thanks

  • Hello,

That's strange! I recommend you to run Activation Troubleshooter:

    1. Open Settings app, navigate to Update & security > Activation.

    2. Click on Troubleshoot link to launch Activation troubleshooter.

    3. The troubleshooter will automatically detect the issue and fix it.

Also, you can locate your product key using this support article and reactivate your system:

Let us know if issue still persists!

  • If a computer has activated before, it will automatically activate itself after connect to Internet.

If reactivate failed, run activation troubleshooter firstly, make sure computer is connecting Internet. Disable security software.
