I apologize in advance if I do not do this post correctly.
I have MS Windows XP on my Dell laptop with a wireless connection to the main house computer. The Windows XP Service Pack 3 notification keeps popping up on my automatic updates. It says I need to download, so I do, then reboot. Once I reboot, it reappears again after some time. I tried to disable my Norton and firewall but with no luck. I have CCleaner, Adware, and Malewarebytes also on my computer but it did not seem like I could disable those. Any ideas? I appreciate your help!
does it download the file? in IE go to tools/windows update install the active x controls and update the downloader software, if the file has already been donwloaded the installation will begin, otherwise it will download and install sp3. If you are still having issues after this, i wouldnt look towards any of the programs that you have listed as i have not seen any of them effect an update, i would be looking really hard for a virus.
