Unable to connect to TV via HDMI RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I just cannot get my PC connected to my TV via HDMI

My AMD Radeon 5700 1024MB series graphics card  shows as "Not Plugged In"

I have checked the HDMI cable and its fine.

I have installed the latest drivers.

I'm trying to connect it to a Phillips TV

I use the DVI output from the card to my Viewsonic screen and want to duplicate this output to my TV

    I'm on Windows 7 64Bit

    Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q8300

    Motherboard AsusTek P5KPL-AM IN/GB

    Help appreciated thanks

    GD

  • Hi,

I noticed that it is a PC that you built yourself, thus I’d like to know whether the HDMI output issue occurred only recently? Or you encountered this issue since you built this PC? May be it is necessary to check the HDMI output slot, sometimes we encountered the” not plugged in” issue just because the hardware problem, such as the output slot is too deep.

    Regards,

  • Hi,

For this issue, I suggest you try the following steps:

    1. Please first check the output of TV and PC, both work fine?
    2. Sine update doesn’t work, please reinstall the drivers for a test.
    3. Please also keep the latest BIOS and chipset update from manufacture.
    4. Try a different hdmi cable or a VGA cable.
    5. Please also contact the PC or TV manufacture if possible.

    Regards,

    Yolanda

  • Hi Yolanda,

I'll take your points one by one..

    1. Both TV and PC are functioning perfectly.

2 I have uninstalled the drivers for the card and uninstalled the hardware too, then I have re-insalled the card with the very latest drivers from the manufacturer.

3 My BIOS and Chipset are both current.

4 The HDMI cable is functioning as I have attached a different video source to it and it is instantly recognized by the TV and I can output sound and vision to TV.

5 TV manufacturer states that as the HDMI ports on the TV are accepting signal from all the other sources there must be a problem with the  PC which I have built myself.

    Thanks,

  • Hi,

Does your computer has a HDMI output port? Try it if possible.

    Please refer to:

Connect your computer to a TV

Please also lower the screen refresh rate for a test.

    Please refer to:

  • It's the HDMI output that isn't working, the cable is plugged in but the properties box says it isn't.

Changing the other parameters has no effect.

    Sorry.. next..?

    Hi,

Someone with similar situation has got it fixed. You may want to take a look at the proposed solution by Neo101.

    Hope that helps.
