How Can I change applicationhost.config? RRS feed

  • Question

  • On Windows Vista Enterprise, the applicationHost.config file is in the C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-iis-sharedlibraries_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6000.16386_none_0eb2b0c8b7e74678

directory and I need to change it.  I am logged in as administrator and I took ownership of the file and I created a registry kep hkey_local-machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer variable UseSystemFor SystemFolders and set it to 1 to try and make it so I can unset the read-only flag on the directory (this did not work or help).

Does anyone have any idea how you are supposed to change the ApplicationHost.config file, since Windows won't let you change it?  I need to change the "deny" to allow on the httpTracing line.

    Thanks in advance.
