Wordpad programme corrupted RRS feed

  • My Wordpad programme is well and truly corrupted.  I have tested it for all intrusions --viruses etc., to no avail.  So maybe I will start with the most annoying problem.   Say one starts to type the first letter "A "of a line of text, and then one inserts letter "B" contiguous with, and to the left of "A".  At this point, letter "A" disappears, and one has to keep typing the whole line again, while watching the original one disappear; or cut the line, starting from the point to the right of "B", insert "A" again, and then paste it back to the right of "A".  This keeps one amused for hours, depending on how bad a typist one is!   Here is the sequence----  A    BA   B

    There are many more bizarre happenings, but if someone can help me fix this fault, I may not go ahead and sue Microsoft, after all!

    Does it happen in other applications? e.g. NotePad, MS-Word, or anywhere you can type.

    Thanks for your quick response, Ishidacchi.

    I should have mentioned that the first mentioned fault occurs sporadically. By the way, I am using Wordpad to write this reply, so I will point out, at the end of this message, if it occurs, with a screenshot. 

    It has not occurred in the following, so far:

    MS spreadsheet, dictionary or database.
    MS Notepad.

    It's recommended to install the latest updates to make sure your machine works well.

    We also can run SFC /scannow command to scan the integrity of operating system files.

    If it has not been resolved by "SFC /scannow", please try "DISM".
    Use DISM to fix issues SFC can't
