I am running windows 7 home premium 32 bit as administrator. In the past my option for Windows updates was "Instal Updates Immediately (recommended). I've recently notice that now the option has be changed to "Check for Update but let me choose...".
This is greyed out in the Administrator account, but is available in the Guest Account. I have tried turning on the network administrator active:yes, and it is greyed out for that account as well. The Windows Update services and BITS are enabled
and active. Any help is appreciated.
PS. Even though I'm logged on as the administrator, I get the message "Some settings are managed by your system administrator" but this is a stand alone system.
Please try the following methods and check the results.
1. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter.
Open the Windows Update troubleshooter by clicking the
Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type
troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under
System and Security, click Fix problems with Windows Update.
