can we skip the long windows 8 intro video each time a new user logs onto a machine? RRS feed

  • In fact, you can do that on any Windows machine by creating the EnableFirstLogonAnimation value on: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Just assign a value for "1" and that's it.

  • This can be only done with the Windows 8 Enterprise Edition.

    Add this to the unattendex.xml:

    reg.exe add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" /v EnableFirstLogonAnimation /d 0 /t REG_DWORD /f

  • If your a consumer and aren't using MDT or making registry edits you can also hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to Task Manager and File --Run and type in explorer.exe

Be kind and Mark as Answer if I helped.
