Need some help understanding how Windows 7 deals with serial ports and devices that is different than XP.
We have a quality lab that has three external testing devices that communicate via serial com ports. In XP I have attached a USB four port serial extender that words just fine in but when testing on a Win7 machine my software shows the ports commected
by no data is being transmitted between the testing devices and software.
I have the latest device drivers and have even tried installing a two port internal serial card, all with the same results. I have to say, I am assuming it is a windows 7 issue as this works fine with XP.
Trying to understand the difference and what I am missing...
