Cannot start Task Manager in windows 7

Answers

  • When I try to go on to task manager nothing happens.

    Hi

How are you trying to start the Task Manager?

Please open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following location.

    C:\Windows\System32

Look in that folder for the file  taskmgr.exe

If you find the file, double click that file. Does this start the Task Manager?

    Let us know.

Thank You for using Windows 7

  • Please start the command prompt (cmd.exe) with admin rights [1] and run sfc [2]:

    sfc.exe /scannow

Are you now able to run Task Manager?

    best regards

  • If the above suggestions do not resolve the issue, please let us know if Task Scheduler can run when you disable antivirus.

If it does not run either, you may need to run In-place Upgrade to repair the system.

  • No, I get the same error msg: Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator.  But I am the ONLY one using this computer, and my user is administrator.

  • You must scan your computer from virus. Try it
