I'm trying to patch World of Warcraft to the new 3.0.8 patch under Windows 7 x64. I get an error that says that it cannot find WoW.exe, and I remember having this problem under XP and Vista with previous patches, so I try to move my World of Warcraft folder into the Program Files (x86) folder. However, when I try, Windows tells me that the folder, or one of the many folders beneath it, are open by a process and cannot be moved. I check to see which process has it opened, and its "System," for some reason it has my Screenshots folder open.
So I decide to copy the folder instead of move it. This doesn't work either; the window comes up, says its 12GB or something, but sits at "Calculating..." and, after 20 minutes, still hasn't copied anything.
Is there anything I can do here? I don't see any other processes running that have my WoW folder open. Files aren't ticked as Read Only.
