Windows 7 - problem with multiple monitors on displayport RRS feed

  • Question

  • When displaying multiple monitors using displayport, if a monitor display gets powered off, windows will change the monitor configuration and move displays around. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

  • Microsoft/Windows/Media has a utility called: Windows Media Professional Exhibitor...The utility is for running 2 or more display at same time on 1 OS..The utility might be retired thru Microsoft, but use youre internet search engine for it...

  • What we can do on Windows side is choose Multiple displays option in Screen Resolution interface, in general we choose Extend these displays. In your scenario, when a monitor display gets powered off, windows will change the monitor configuration and move displays around, is a expected phenomenon, unless you choose Duplicate these displays…

You’d better ask for help from DisplayPort to see if they can give a hint.

    Regards

  • It looks like that utility is for playback of Windows Media files. Which is not what these monitors are used for. Thanks for the reply.
