Packard Bell laptop - Blue screen of death





    My laptop is running on vista. We have a thomson speedtouch 330 modem.

    Had problems with drivers at the beginning but we finally found the drivers that are compatible with vista or so we thought.

    It worked for a while and then our problem started again. Not only do we only have an intermittent connection but our computer shuts down with the screen of death and restart asking us if we want to restart in safe mode.

    Has anyone encountered this problem and if so how did you sort it out? I spoke to a helpline who suggested recovering the system but then I am not sure whether we need to do it or whether they thought it would be the easy way to sort the problem out. I mean I dont mind recovering the system but it means me savings all my files on DVDs first of all

    Any help would be appreciated
